Other farm business improvement tools tend to focus on pastures and/or finances. StockCare has a strong primary focus on the animals. We can only get the animal performance if they are well fed and in good health. Optimal animal performance is the key driver of farm income.

The programme involves StockCare Veterinarians to ensure a very high standard of animal welfare.

"Knowing what is happening on other farms is interesting, Knowing what is happening on your farm is powerful"

StockCare is a comprehensive knowledge based programme that helps farmers measure what is happening on their farms. The information is used to find out where the business is starting from and then to set targets and goals that are designed specifically for each farm and its owners. There are no recipes or "one size fits all" in StockCare - it's all about helping individual farmers achieve what they want to achieve. It is designed to help farmers make more informed decisions to achieve goals and aspirations that are realistic and challenging.

  • The StockCare concept has been proven
  • StockCare has protocols that effectively measure and quantify how well livestock are being cared for
  • StockCare is a powerful database of information gained over many years that supports and validates these systems
  • StockCare is for proactive farmers who have the skills, discipline and commitment to making these systems work

StockCare is based on Knowledge and objective information

The programme is based on real farm business information. Farmers use the StockCare protocols and data recording forms. Each farmer has an annual Management Plan which incorporates a detailed animal health plan. There is a reminder system to ensure information is collected at the appropriate times. All the information goes into a centralised, web based SQL data base which creates new reports immediately after data entry. The data base has the capacity to handle large numbers of individual animal records which will enable traceability.
